Composition: The subject of the photo is on the left side of the screen and the subject begins to fade as the photo goes to the right. Also the first tree is in focus while the others get slightly more out of focus as the photo goes to the right.
Technical: The lighting of the photo was the sun behind a thick fog giving the photo a sepia tone to it. I also used a zoom lense.
Communication: The photo gives off a mysterious mood.
Composition: The subject of the photo is the tree that is blocking out the sun which is being blocked behind a cloud of fog, the entire photo is also in focus.
Technical Aspects: The lighting is the same as the first photo with the fog giving a sepia tone and the same lense was used as the first image.
Communication: This photo gives off more of a scary mood rather than the last one.
Composition: The subject of the photo is the wall that extends out into the ocean on the left side of the photo. The rocks are in focus, but as you follow the rocks down to the wooden frame on the wall, it becomes out of focus because of the fog.
Technical: The lighting of the photo was bleak and gave off a natural greyscale feel to the photo. In photoshop I converted the photo to black and white.
Communication: The photo gives off a dark mood.
Composition: The subject of the photo is an ancient statue of Buddha. Buddha's face and shoulders and part of his torso are in focus with the background out of focus.
Technical: The lighting of the photo is mostly illuminating the statues face and casting a shadow over the wall and Buddha's body. In photoshop I decreased the levels to give the photo a dark glow and feel to it.
Communication: The photo gives off a calm and peaceful mood.
Composition: The subject of the photo is a stone tablet of Egyptian Hieroglyphics. The tablet is in focus with the background out of focus.
Technical: The lighting of the photo is cast over the entirety of the stone tablet with the light casting shadows over the wall under the tablet. In photoshop I decreased the levels to give the photo a dark glow and feel to it just like the Buddha photo
The photo gives off a sense of history.
Composition: The subject of the photo is a peace sign lamp. The lamp is completely in focus with the background blacked out and out of focus.
Technical: The lighting of the photo is also the subject making it an interesting looking photo. In photoshop I had to make the entire background back with the clone stamp tool to put the focus on the lamp completely
The photo gives off a calm feel to it with the obvious reason being the peace sign, but also the warm orange-red color.
Composition: The subject of the photo is the Moon. The moon is in focus with a black background.
The moon is the source of the lighting like the peace sign lamp. For this photo I made no edits in photoshop.
Composition: The subject of the photo is the Taunton River overlooked by the point. The entire photo is in focus allowing you to take in the entire photo.
The weather was cloudy on the field trip minimizing glare on the water giving it a gloomy look which is how I like to take my photos.
the photo has a homely feel to it, at least for me.
This photo was taken in the Chinese section of Epcot in Disney world and is one of my favorite photos. The subject was the entrance gate to "China". The entire gate is in focus with the clouds and sky slightly not in focus.
The sun was directly over the gate giving the colors the right amount of brightness before it became too bright. In photoshop I adjusted the levels slightly to make the colors pop slightly.
This photo gives off a sense of culture
These are scans of 4 albums that I used for my scanography assignment. The albums are in focus with the background blacked out.
I used a scanner for these pictures and they came out very clear and shows the detail of the photos well.
These albums mean a lot to me and have sentimental value in them. They introduced me to The Grateful Dead and Jimi Hendrix and changed my life.
